The U-Scan is the industry’s first universal phased array, TOFD and corrosion scanner. It can scan pipe welds in both circumferential or axial directions and can hold up to 8 transducers at a time.

Configuring the scanner is quick and easy. Each truck is modular and can be mounted to the supplied arm bars to allow multiple probe scanning from the center, offset, front or side mount positions. The encoder truck can also be configured to a simple B-Scan setup for corrosion inspection.

The scanner was designed with large diameter soft contact magnetic wheels that are rated to temperatures up to 500°F, the first ever manual scanner to offer this capability. We took a different approach to weld scanning; our competition offers hard contact wheels which can cause vibration and probe chatter thus loss of ultrasonic coupling and poor data collection. They also offer small diameter wheels that can make going over obstructions such as welds or debris very difficult. The U-Scan with its large soft wheel design rolls smoothly on the scan surface with little to no vibration, while scanning over welds and debris with ease. Hard contact wheels can leave marks or destroy a painted surface, the U-Scan will not. The scanner wheels also comes with wheel scrapers to keep debris off the wheels at all times.

The U-scan comes with our in-house made IP68 rated water proof RME encoder which we back with a life time warranty; no other scanner manufacture offers this type of warranty. The encoder comes with a detachable cable so a longer cable or replacement can be changed out in a matter of minutes.
